LOCAL ATTRACTIONS

OUT AND ABOUT

Conveniently located between Oxford and Milton Keynes, we have a wealth of local attractions for you to visit.
From Warwick Castle to the world famous Silverstone race circuit, there is something for everyone.

CYCLING

Around here they are pretty serious about cycling – in fact many say it's ‘our thing.’ And why not? After all we are lucky enough to call Northamptonshire our home. Treated to quiet country lanes, gentle slopes, gliding descents, lush green landscapes and the occasional challenge when you need it too, not taking advantage would therefore quite honestly be criminal.

We are surrounded by ideal cycling countryside and are on the doorstep of The National Cycle Network - national route 50.

We have plenty of tools if there is a problem and can always help with some local knowledge if route planning help is what you are after.

HIKING

There are a number of walking trails within the local area to enjoy. Boddington Reservoir walk can be joined from the nearby village of Byfield. A footpath then leads you around the reservoir to the smaller Byfield Reservoir on the eastern side of Boddington Reservoir. Around here there is some woodland and footpaths heading east to Byfield. As you make your way round the water there are lovely views of the surrounding Northamptonshire countryside and lots of wildlife to see. Look out for ducks, green woodpeckers and dragonflies.

You'll also see lots of fishermen as it is a great location for carp fishing. The site is located a few miles north of Chipping Warden where you can pick up the Macmillan Way long distance trail. This links with the Oxford Canal walk where you can further explore the Cherwell Valley and head towards Banbury.
